Fibromyalgia:

Fibromyalgia is a complex, chronic pain disorder that impacts the affected individual physically, mentally and even socially. Fibromyalgia is not a disease with a specifically identifiable cause or causes. Rather it is a syndrome characteristized by frequent fatigue, widespread chronic pain, multiple trigger points (tender muscle fibers), difficulty sleeping, abnormal processing of pain and often by psychological distress.

Fibromyalgia, also referred to as fibromyositis and fibrositis, can be a severely debilitating condition that can interfere with even the most routine of daily activities. Those individuals who suffer from fibromyalgia have often been to numerous doctors, have been prescribed many different medications to treat their condition and have, unfortunately had little success in finding a remedy. Many times they are told it is linked to an underlying mental condition that doesn't not allow them to process their pain normally and therefore results in a chronic cascade of pain symptoms.

Whatever the reason, the fibromyalgia sufferer is simply looking for answers. At Optimum Health, we combine all of our disciplines together to formulate a comprehensive treatment protocol that addresses the numerous symptoms that fibromyalgia presents. Fibromyalgia sufferer usually presents with a list of medications that they have taken or currently take. It is vitally important to address the delicate intestinal environment for each individual to make certain they are absorbing as much of the bio availability of the medications as possible. Also, good nutrition is a must for the fibromyalgia patient. Secondly, sound rest is vital for our bodies to regenerate . This is even more important in the case of fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, these patients simply are not getting enough rest due to the pain and fatigue factors and therefore, their bodies can not perform the necessary cellular regeneration to facilitate effective healing. Third, it is important to help the patient get relief of their pain and fatigue.

Our medical staff, along with our chiropractors and physical therapists, will ensure that our patients are getting proper nutrition, help them to get proper rest and perform the quality treatment and rehabilitation necessary to provide the fibromyalgia patient with measurable relief. Don't delay in making an appointment today to discuss how Optimum Health can help you with fibromyalgia.
