Functional Tests:
Food & Chemical Sensitivity/Intolerance
Are Hidden Food Allergies Making You Fat and Sick?
This serum test provides patients and healthcare professionals information to successfully overcome a wide variety of conditions.
The inability to tolerate foods and environmental factors, also known as sensitivity or intolerance, induces chronic activation of the innate immune system and gives rise to inflammatory processes.
This inflammation has been linked to countless chronic conditions including: digestive disorders, migraines, obesity, chronic fatigue, ADD, aching joints, skin disorders, arthritis, and many more.

GI Effects
Gastrointestinal function is important for general health. The intestinal tract contains significant amounts of bacteria - some beneficial, some neutral, and some harmful. Balancing beneficial microbial flora in the gut is key in digestion, nutrient usage, and ridding the body of waste and pathogens. Poor digestion and malabsorption can lead to immune dysfunction, nutritional insufficiencies, mental/emotional disorders and autoimmune diseases.
• DNA identification of microbiota
• Detects parasites
• Identifies all targeted microbiota and anaerobic
• Determines multiple antibiotic and botanical sensitivities
Vitamin Profiles
Fat Soluble Vitamins
Measuring serum levels of the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, & K plus beta carotene & CoQ10 gives clinicians a tool to gain an overall perspective of health, nutrient processing, and dietary insufficiency.
Vitamin A: Essential for neural development, protection against infections, maintaining healthy mucus membranes, skin, and vision.
Vitamin D: Measuring vitamin D levels can detect toxicity and deficiency. Low vitamin D levels have been linked to a higher risk of heart attack, various cancers, depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and other auto-immune diseases. Vitamin D regulates calcium and phosphorus absorption to maintain bone health.
Vitamin E: An important free radical scavenger and protective antioxidant for membrane tissues, helping stop damage to healthy cells.
Vitamin K: Functions as a co-factor in the production of blood coagulation (in the liver), osteocalcin (in bones), and matrix Gla-proteins (in cartilage and vessel walls), each resulting in the deposition of ionic calcium. Vitamin K can also be a potential protector against osteoporosis, atherosclerosis, and possibly cancer.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10): Allows food energy to be converted into cellular energy. It also protects cells from free radicals, helps with proper mitochondrial function, and is associated with cardiovascular health.
Cyrex Test
This serum test measures wheat /gluten reactivity and autoimmunity to aid in the diagnosis of Celiac disease. The test is recommended for patients who are suspected of having intestinal mucosal damage, present symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, depression, osteo-arthritis, rheumatoid-arthritis, or thyroid disorders. It is also recommended for patents who complain of food allergy and intolerance.
- Accurately identifies gluten sensitivity.
- Assesses immune responses to wheat-associated proteins, enzymes, and peptides.
- Measures antibody production against an array of wheat polypeptides.
- Evaluates both alcohol-soluble and water-soluble fractions of wheat.
MusculoSkeletal Tests
Optimum Health utilizes specific physical diagnostic tests to determine the most appropriate customized treatment plan for you.
- Range of Motion and Muscle Testing provides detailed information regarding deficiencies in your
strength and range of mobility, and whether or not those deficiencies are due to pain or other
musculoskeletal causes
- Diagnostic Ultrasound (DU) provides a detailed picture of the soft tissue in your body, just as an
X-ray provides a picture of your spine.
- Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) testing provides detailed information regarding the transmission of
nerve signals to and from your central nervous system (spinal cord and brain).
